World of Warcraft’s 20th anniversary update has many amazing features for players to discover, including a special surprise for the Monk class.
Not eager to rest on its laurels, World of Warcraft has already given fans a first look at Patch 11.0.7, the next update planned for early 2025. The patch takes players to the Siren Isle, an island used by the Kul Tirans during the Fourth War as an Azerite mine until its denizens mysteriously vanished. The Siren Isle has recently begun emitting a strange pulse of energy, attracting allied Goblins, Arathi, and Earthen, as well as hostile Naga, pirates, and Vrykul to its shores. Fans can unlock both progression gear and cosmetics through activities on the island, including Thrayir, the Eye of the Siren, a gorgeous Stormcrow mount players have known about for a long time.
World of Warcraft: The War Within Patch 11.0.7 Features
- New endgame zone – The Siren Isle
- Flame Blessed Iron – New currency exchanged for mounts, pets, gear, transmogs, and boss spawns
- Cyrce’s Circlet – upgradable ring
- Thrayir, Eyes of the Siren – Stormcrow mount discovered in the files 10 years ago
- Plunderstorm returns
- Turbulent Timeways returns
- Fate of the Kirin Tor questline
- Patch 11.1 campaign prologue
- Arathi ears for Humans and Kul Tirans
The Stormcrow mount was originally discovered in the files for World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.4, Siege of Orgrimmar, back in 2013. During Warlords of Draenor, the mount was teased as a potential reward obtainable in the game, but was seemingly cut alongside other World of Warcraft content. Now, over 10 years later, World of Warcraft is finally adding the Stormcrow to the game in the form of Thrayir, Eyes of the Siren.
Interestingly enough, the Siren Isle itself is also a blast from the past. The island’s map was found in the game’s files back in Battle for Azeroth, but it was never used during Island Expeditions or any other WoW patch content at the time. Though it has been tweaked to suit the modern story, reflections of its origin can be seen in the Siren Isle’s history as a Kul Tiran mine at the time of Battle for Azeroth.
This isn’t the only exciting thing coming to World of Warcraft in the coming months. Quests exploring the fate of the Kirin Tor and a continuation of The War Within’s story, Arathi Ear customizations for Humans and Kul Tirans, and the return of the Turbulent Timeways and Plunderstorm in World of Warcraft are on the horizon, so fans will have plenty to look forward to in Patch 11.0.7 next year.
