Stardew Valley Shares Clever Space-Saving Spot for Preserves Jars
Summary
- Cleverly place lots of preserves jars in an underused tunnel for passive income in Stardew Valley.
- The tunnel has space for 88 jars, braziers for lighting, and a storage chest to optimize profit.
- Fans impressed by the setup share similar ideas in the game, like using the quarry for various purposes.
A Stardew Valley player has shared a clever way to use tons of Preserves Jars without taking up any space on the player’s farm or in their home. The placement uses an area that most players in Stardew Valley almost never visit, making this a very interesting technique.
Using a Preserves Jar
is a good way of making money passively, as once a crop is put in it, players don’t need to do anything else except to collect the finished product. The profit can rise even further if the player chooses Stardew Valley‘s Artisan profession, but making a bit profit without turning one’s home or farm into an eyesore can be a bit more difficult.

Stardew Valley: Tips For Completionists
Completionists playing Stardew Valley should look to these tips for advice.
Enter gdanz1, who shared their clever Preserves Jars spot with fellow players on the Stardew Valley subreddit. Instead of building numerous sheds or home expansions and losing money doing so, they instead put a slew of Preserves Jars in a tunnel just beyond the game’s bus stop. This tunnel is almost never used in the game, and doesn’t have any NPCs wandering down it, so there’s no risk for the Preserves Jars getting destroyed. It looks like gdanz1 has managed to squeeze in 88 Preserves Jars, as well as some braziers for lighting, and a storage chest, presumably for holding more ingredients to convert into artisan goods.
Stardew Valley Tip Taken to the Next Level
Pam
single Preserves Jar by the Pelican Town bus stop where they can readily see it, and put an item into it at the same time as those in the tunnel. This allows the single Preserves Jar to serve as an alert as to when they’re all ready, so the player doesn’t have to remember or check it every single day.
Other fans suggested similar locations where they’ve done something like this, like Stardew Valley‘s quarry. While it takes a little bit of effort to get into the quarry for the first time, once it’s accessed and cleared, the space can be used for whatever a player likes. Some fans have turned this area into tree farms, while others use it for things like Preserves Jars, or even storage chests for extraneous collections they don’t want to clutter their farm with.
