Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has locked its December 9 release date back in late August 2024. Ahead of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s official release, developer MachineGames clarifies how the game stands out over its previous projects.
In a continuation of this trend, the publisher has now premiered the game’s official launch trailer. Although such trailers are typically released within 24 hours of a given game’s release, this one isn’t as early as it might initially seem. This is because Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will have a three-day early access period, making December 6 the effective release date for anyone purchasing the Premium Upgrade DLC. The $34.99 add-on also includes several exclusive cosmetics and a digital artbook.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Launch Trailer Highlights the Game’s Variety
As for the launch trailer itself, the three-minute video is largely geared toward highlighting the game’s variety, both in terms of gameplay and environments. To that end, it showcases quite a number of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle‘s locations, ranging from the Himalayas and Vatican City to Thailand’s Sukhothai temples and Egyptian deserts. Fans can also see a few new glimpses of an action sequence taking place on a ship during a storm, which was already part of some earlier promotional materials. Gameplay-wise, the video seemingly goes over everything that the upcoming title will have to offer: exploration, puzzle-solving, platforming, and combat.
The titular great circle gets a few mentions during the trailer, which underlines the in-universe theory that the mysterious artifact serves as a conduit for some otherworldly power. Nazi archeologist Emmerich Voss, the game’s main antagonist, was previously seen suggesting as much in one of the earlier Indiana Jones and the Great Circle gameplay deep dives, proclaiming that he’s seeking the circle for its supernatural qualities. Another paranormal element appears around the 1:50 mark in the launch trailer, where Indy gets a jump scare from what looks like a decisively cranky mummy.
Fans can expect the first batch of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle reviews on December 5, 24 hours before the start of the game’s early access period. Bethesda owner Microsoft has already confirmed that the upcoming title will only be a timed rather than permanent Xbox console exclusive, with the current plan being for its PS5 port to arrive in spring 2025.
