Genshin Impact‘s recent Special Program event for update 5.4 confirmed that a new five-star character named Yumizuki Mizuki will be joining the playable roster in the upcoming version. A new post on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has revealed old concept art images showing earlier versions of Mizuki. The leak features five different versions of the character, and it seems like the third one is the closest to her final design. The main difference is that in this concept art, Mizuki appears to control the Electro element, matching her purple color scheme. However, HoYoverse has officially confirmed that she will be an Anemo character in Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact: Mizuki Release Date and Team Comp Role
Some fans have pointed out that this concept art is likely very old, as it does not include a green-themed design that would indicate Dendro elemental powers, suggesting it was created before Dendro was officially revealed. A few comments also claim that some of the designs resemble existing characters, with the first one looking very similar to another Genshin Impact Anemo user, Mondstadt’s Sucrose.
Since her kit was revealed, many players have speculated that Mizuki seems like a five-star version of Sucrose. In terms of gameplay, she is expected to be a new support character in Genshin Impact. As an Anemo user, Mizuki will likely be a flexible five-star unit, as this element does not directly trigger elemental reactions but enhances team synergy through Swirl.
Regarding her exact release date, based on HoYoverse’s usual update schedule, Genshin Impact Version 5.4 and Mizuki should arrive around February 12. Since she is the only new roster addition in this update, there will be three rerun characters. HoYoverse has already confirmed that the first phase of the update will feature Mizuki and Sigewinne, while the second phase will include the Fontaine Archon, Lady Furina, and Wriothesley.
