Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Players Have a Big Concern Regarding Emotes
Key Takeaways
- Fans are upset about emotes in third-person, giving an unfair advantage.
- Black Ops 6 beta had issues like unbalanced guns and aim assist.
- Players want Activision to learn from Apex Legends on emote mechanics.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 fans are concerned about emotes being in third-person, as they enable players to gain an unfair advantage over their opponents by spotting them over hiding spots. In fact, a similar mechanic existed in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and fans weren’t happy about it, but the effect seems to be much more pronounced in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 shattered several records during its beta phase, but the game had its fair share of issues. Many were unhappy with certain guns being unbalanced, while others noted that the developers are still struggling to find the sweet spot for aim assist. Amid that, a new issue has been underlined by the community.
In a new post on the BlackOps6 subreddit, user coone90 highlights a really frustrating issue present in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Apparently, when players emote in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, they are seen in third-person mode, despite the game normally being in first-person. While this might not sound like a big deal, it essentially allows players to peek over corners and walls, enabling them to spot their opponents without being seen.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Fans Want Activision to Learn From Apex Legends
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 fans think that Activision should completely overhaul this mechanic, as it is extremely unfair to players. Many suggested that Call of Duty should borrow a page from other games like Apex Legends. In Apex Legends, the opponents are not rendered if they are not visible to the player’s character model. This would allow the players to perform emotes in third-person mode, but they will not be able to see their opponents from that camera perspective since their character model doesn’t have them in its field of view.
Fans are surprised that the third-person emote feature is still present despite the backlash the developers faced for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4‘s similar mechanic. Some highlighted that the camera was locked while performing the emote in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which alleviated the issues to some extent. However, in the case of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, the free camera allows players to gain a lot of intel, giving them a significant edge over their opponents. Activision has been actively taking community feedback and implementing it in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, so it remains to be seen if this mechanic will be revamped before the release of the game.
