Table of Contents
Foraging is one of the many professions you’ll need to train in Fen Research’s Brighter Shores . It allows you to gather resources from all around Hopeport to make potions and some key cooking recipes, which players can use to regain energy and heal in the game. One of these important ingredients is Brown Kelp.
Brown Kelp is a slimy, beige seaweed that grows in specific areas of Hopeport. While it’s easy to pick up, getting to its location can be tough for some players. So, this guide will show you where to find Brown Kelp in Brighter Shores, making foraging a bit easier for you.

Where To Find Brown Kelp In Brighter Shores
Players can find Brown Kelp in East Beach and Jellyfish Landing in Brighter Shores. The first time you’ll need to collect it is when crafting a healing potion for Captain Jal Degreene after a goblin attack on Stone Street. To gather Brown Kelp, open your map and head to one of the aforementioned locations. Both are located on the southwest side of the waterfront, so they’re not very far from the Training Ground.
If you’re early in the game and haven’t unlocked all the areas, run north through the streets to the Central Waterfront. As you enter new regions, a pop-up will display the area name to help you keep your bearings. From the Central Waterfront, head right (or south) to the West Waterfront. When you reach the end, follow the zigzag path to Sea Road. East Beach is just to the left of Sea Road, so enter into one of the two available passages to reach it.
Jellyfish Landing is really close to East Beach. To get there, take the left trail from East Beach, which will lead you to Seashells Seashore and then Jellyfish Landing.
Once you’re at one of these spots, look for the Brown Kelp on the ground. Unlike some other foraging items, it’ll be placed on a khaki cloth, resembling a sack. Since Brown Kelp is a level-zero foraging item, it doesn’t require any progress in the Foraging profession to be picked. When you find it, simply click on it and select the ‘Forage’ option to add it to your backpack. Each time you do this, you’ll get one Brown Kelp. There are only three Brown Kelp nodes at East Beach and Jellyfish Landing, and after you forage them, they take 60 seconds to respawn. This means players can gather a good supply of them for use in the game.
How To Use The Brown Kelp In Brighter Shores
Brown Kelp is needed to craft basic alchemical potions in Brighter Shores, including the 10% Healing Potion and 20% Healing Potion. It’s also an ingredient in 10% Preparation Healing. Players can consume the potions during intense battles with goblins to recover some health. Those running low on money can also sell them for 450 and 640 Gold Coins, respectively, at The Apothecary Shop.
